Alisa Mabray – SNU Leadership Spotlight

A first-grade teacher with Haileyville Public Schools, Alisa Mabray also serves as adjunct instructor for the Education Department with Southeastern Oklahoma State University in McAlester, Oklahoma. After looking at several options for her master’s degree, Mabray decided Southern Nazarene University was the right school for her to pursue a master’s degree in Educational Leadership.

“Southern Nazarene University was the right choice for me because it was a perfect fit for my schedule and for my family since we met once a week. I like that there are one-on-one instructors that meet and care about you,” said Mabray.

There are many aspects of the program Mabray said she enjoyed including building relationships with the professors and other students.

“The part I enjoyed the most was being in a cohort with amazing educators. I learned so much during my time at Southern Nazarene University and I would not trade it for anything,” said Mabray. “It has made me a better teacher and employee. It has helped open doors to provide a better future for my family, as well as establishing resources and building relationships with other educators. I feel that learning from each other has tremendous value and SNU gives you that opportunity.”

This program has left a positive impression on educators across Oklahoma. Mabray said SNU is worth checking out if you are looking to further your education and career.

“I would advise anyone that might be contemplating furthering their education to check out Southern Nazarene University because it is truly an amazing experience,” said Mabray.
