Coweta High School
Toby Shipman is a sophomore at Coweta High School where he is a member of the varsity wrestling team. Shipman said he and his teammates continue to put in the work to help Tiger wrestling live up to its potential.
“I think the biggest thing I’ve improved on this season is knowing I put in the work and leaving the rest to God,” said Shipman.
The sophomore likes to have fun and enjoy what he is doing. Whether it’s on the mat, in the classroom or at home, Shipman embraces the process and has fun doing it.
“I love the bond and humor between me and my teammates, we all think we are really funny. My best memory this season would have to be the second day of our trip to Wisconsin, we got to watch some great wrestling and had a super fun time at the air BNB,” said Shipman.
For Shipman, there are many things he enjoys about being a student-athlete at Coweta High School.
“I really love the support from not only my teammates by classmates as well,” said Shipman. “My favorite subject would probably be Spanish because of my friends in that class, and I have a good memory so it isn’t too hard for me.”
Shipman has wrestled for nine years and plans to continue wrestling and hopefully one day wrestling in college.
“The goal after graduation would be wrestling at the DI level,” said Shipman.
In his free time, Shipman said he likes to hang out with friends and play on the game.
