Glenpool’s Kamistyn Culley – Softball Spotlight – Presented by Tulsa Bone and Joint

Glenpool’s Kamistyn Culley is always looking to get better in multiple ways on a day-to-day
basis.
“I want to improve everyday in all aspects of softball,” Culley said. “I feel like I’ve improved
the most on my leadership skills, patience on my pitch selection and my fielding at third
base.”

Culley, who earned Glenpool Player of the Week on Aug. 22 and was all-district utility
player last season, was hitting .419 with a .605 slugging percentage and a .500 on-base
percentage through Sept. 11. She had driven in 14 runs and had 13 runs scored.
Culley, who smacked her first career home run against Preston, leans on her softball
knowledge, arm strength and being able to make consistent contact at the plate.
“My strengths are my softball IQ, arm strength and being able to put the bat on the ball,”
she said. “I’ve most improved over my career on my patience on pitch selection and
working on my own and weight training.”
Culley wants to continue her softball career at the next level and enter law school. She has
several people that she has been influenced by.
“I don’t have just one. It’s been my HS coaches, competitive coaches and my mom, because
they take the time to make me better,” she said.
Culley has helped the Warriors to a 15-13 record through Sept. 19.
