Christopher Stafford is currently a junior at Daniel Webster High School in Tulsa. He has been running track since he was in the fourth grade. He also plays football and soccer for the Webster Warriors. The fact that being a multi-sport athlete makes his schedule pretty full is one of the things he says is a benefit of deciding to play sports while in school.
“In my opinion the best part about playing sports in high school would be because it keeps kids busy and out of trouble,” he said.
Stafford is a largely self-motivated individual saying that when it comes to reaching goals, especially in athletics, he finds the drive within himself.
“I just get out there and start running, set a goal, and achieve it,” he said.
Stafford also has a humor that is self-evident as he recalled something quite humbling when asked about one of his favorite memories in his track career.
“My favorite memory in competition had to have been when I ran the hurdles in a meet for the first time and I fell,” he admitted.
Thinking ahead to life after high school, Stafford has a goal of running track in college and eventually on a professional level.
