William Coleman – SNU Sport Management Spotlight

When William Coleman began his search for an institution with the master’s degree program that would help him further his career, the school’s academic reputation was the top priority. Coleman eventually landed at Southern Nazarene University.

“SNU is the right school for me to pursue my master’s degree because of its academic reputation and is recommended by several of my colleagues in the educational field. Between the well-designed assignments and the friendly staff at SNU, I know I made the correct choice to further my education here,” said Coleman.

Serving as the Athletic Director and PE teacher at KIPP, Tulsa Public Charter Schools in Tulsa, OK, Coleman knew the Master’s in Sports Management at SNU would help him further is career.

“This degree allows me to sharpen my knowledge and skills in my field. I will have specialized in-depth knowledge in my particular field of Sports Management. The benefits of my master’s degree also help me improve my research, writing and analyzing skillset, therefore, becoming an enhanced version of myself to serve students at KIPP Tulsa better,” said Coleman.

During his time at SNU, Coleman said he has enjoyed the engaging assignments that he can connect with his current role as athletic director.

“I appreicate the prompt responses from my Professors, Financial Aid, other departments when I have questions, and the feedback after assignments. I enjoy virtually meeting classmates and receiving their viewpoints on topics,” said Coleman. “I am actually livid with myself for not attending SNU years ago. I was surprised by how easy the process was enrolling to become a graduate student. SNU makes dreams become a reality with a user-friendly process.”

Coleman offers this advice to others who are looking to further their education.

“I would tell people who want to continue their education considering SNU is not to hesitate and enroll now. I can work full-time as a PE teacher and athletic director for a School district while SNU provides a flexible option for classes to help maximize my full potential,” said Coleman.
