SAPULPA CHIEFTAINS
BOYS
Coach: Jordan Nagel
22-23 Record: 5-18
In his first season as head coach, Jordan Nagel is focused on getting Sapulpa basketball back to being a competitive team. “This team is looking to have a bounce back year. With strong senior leadership and a passion to turn the tide after a few challenging years, we see this season as an opportunity to redefine what it means to be a Sapulpa Chieftain. The goal is clear: end our seniors’ careers on a high note and lay the foundation for a brighter future of our basketball program. We are emphasizing every day the grind and effort it takes to be a successful team and program. This team is coming together every day on and off the court and determined to make this season the start of something truly great here at Sapulpa,” said Nagel. Junior Zac Lewis (5-10, Jr.) will start at point guard and is a VYPE Top 100 nominee. Lewis has an explosive first step and great court vision to create scoring opportunities for teammates. Isaac Ragsdale (5-11, Sr.) is a great shooter from the perimeter and a real asset shooting the three. “Isaac has sneaky
athleticism which enables him to surprise defenders with explosive drives to the basket with strong and finesse finishes around the rim,” said Nagel. Romen Abbage (6-5, Sr.) and Payton Bullock (6-0, Sr.) are two paint players who can battle for rebounds and contribute to the scoring. Bullock is a team captain and a leader on and off the court. Kylen Edwards (6-3, Sr.) is another forward to throw in that mix of inside players. Other players to watch include Jalen Pratt (6-2, Jr.), Jaden Lanham (6-3, Jr.), Martray Behn (5-11, Jr.), Gage Black (5-11, Jr.), Laneer Everett (6-2, Jr.), Cole Spears (6-1, Jr.), Tyler Morgan (6-2, So.), and De’Marion McKinney (6-0, So.). Assisting coach Nagel are coaches Landon Stewart, Anthony “Squirrel” Pettigrew, and Josh Stephens.
