Madison Jacoway
Bixby High School
Since her freshman year, Bixby High School’s Madison Jacoway has been a member of the varsity dance team. Now a senior, Jacoway said she loves being part of the team and representing her school.
“My favorite thing about being a student-athlete at Bixby is the opportunities that I have been given through dance to be more involved in my community like volunteering and making appearances at local events,” said Jacoway. “We have a great group of girls on the team this year! We are all so supportive of each other and always have a lot of fun when we are together.”
Dance is not the only activity Jacoway is involved in at Bixby HS.
“I am a member of the Sports Leadership Council at Bixby. This is where a group of student-athletes partner with the athletic director to better the Bixby athletic department,” said Jacoway.
In the classroom, the senior said she enjoys all of her classes, but her favorite is math. Selecting a favorite teacher was not easy.
“I have had so many great teachers throughout my time at Bixby, I can’t pick just one,” said Jacoway.
During her time at Bixby High School, Jacoway has made many great memories that she will take with her to college and beyond.
“My favorite memory so far has been the first time we played Jenks this season in football. The adrenaline and energy throughout the sidelines and crowd made it my favorite football game to cheer on the Spartans in my four years of being on the team,” said Jacoway. “After I graduate, I will attend the University of Colorado Boulder prior to medical school.”
Jacoway said her father has been a big influence in her life.
“Someone who has been a big influence in my life is my dad. My dad is a very hard worker, gives good advice, and always pushes me to be the best version of myself,” said Jacoway.
In her free time, Jacoway said she enjoys reading and hanging out with friends and family.
