Bixby’s Taylor Vierthaler Athlete Spotlight Presented by RainTech

Taylor Vierthaler

Bixby High School

When Taylor Vierthaler joined the dance team at Bixby High School as a freshman, she knew being part of the team was something she wanted to do in her high school career. Now a junior, Vierthaler is competing and having fun representing BHS.

“My favorite memory with the dance team has been being on the competitive team this year and creating deeper connections with my teammates,” said Vierthaler. “What I love most about being a student-athlete at Bixby is being able to push myself and finding out what I’m capable of both academically and physically.”

The junior said her teammates are a big reason she loves being part of the team, even when practice is tough, and the season is long.

“What I love most about my teammates are how supportive everyone is of each other’s goals while still pushing everyone to be the best they can be,” said Vierthaler.

Vierthaler is a member of National Honor Society and her favorite subject in school is math. Her plans after high school include attending college.

“One of my favorite teachers this year is Mr. Devoe,” said Vierthaler. “I want to go to TCC for my first couple of years after high school before transferring to a four-year college. I am currently undecided on what I want to major in.”

The support Vierthaler has received from her teammates and family has made a big difference in her approach to dance and to school. From enjoying activities in her free time to the support of her younger sister, Vierthaler said she appreciates the people in her life.

“I enjoy dancing at my studio, Soul ll Sole, thrifting, and hanging out with my friends. My younger sister, Madison, has been so supportive of me throughout all aspects of my life and I truly look up to her and the person she’s becoming,” said Vierthaler.
The future 2025 graduate offers this advice to anyone wanting to participate in dance.
“My biggest advice to anyone wanting to be on the team is that you must be willing to take corrections and apply them, have good sportsmanship and attitude, and love and support your dance family,” said Vierthaler.
