Broken Arrow Tigers Wrestling Preview – Presented by Eleven01 Barber Lounge

The Broken Arrow Tigers enter the 2022-23 wrestling season ranked No. 5 in Class 6A according to Owrestle.com. The team returns five state qualifiers and several wrestlers with tremendous experience. 

Andrew Lollis wrestled in the state tournament last year at 138-pounds. This season he is moving up to 157-pounds and is currently ranked No. 2. 

Kaleb Collins is another state qualifier who wrestled at 126-pounds last year is will likely move down to 120-pounds. He is not ranked in the top 10, but Collins is looking to change that this season. 

Ethan Rodriguez is another guy to watch this season. In 2022 he qualified for state at 113-pounds and after an excellent offseason, he is moving up to 132-pounds. Evan Rodriguez will wrestle at 126-pounds and is ranked No. 6 in Class 6A. 

Kadence Roop is currently ranked No. 3 at 144-pounds after qualifying for state last season at 132-pounds. Roop has the potential to not only make state, but to find his way to the podium. 

Other wrestlers to watch include Hunter Knox (106), Hudson Beckley (113), Severn Torres (138), Garrett Stinchcomb (150), Austin Brown (175), Owen Jones (190), Michael Cooper Cook (215), and Jacob Brammer (Hwt).

The Tigers have two four-time state champions. Zach Marcheselli (2016-2019) and Brandon Tucker (2000-2003).

10 years ago, Tanner Bailey (145) and Carlos Taylor (285) won state titles. 

20 years ago, Jeff Sumner (103), Brandon Tucker (112), and Shane Vernon (145) won titles. 

25 years ago, Skyler Holman (119), and Branson Phillips (135) won titles. 

35 years ago, Kevin Donathan (115) won a title. 

50 years ago, Ron Lambeth (157) won a title. 

55 tears ago, Jerry Adams (177) won a title.
