Coach: Brandon Maddux
21-22 Record: 20-7
The Tigers fell one game short of making the state tournament last season and they are ready to get back on the court to take care of the unfinished business. Head coach Brandon Maddux says that his squad brings back a lot of experience that will be key to their success.
“We will be led by two seniors, Na’Kylan Starks and Mason Ford,” Maddux said. “Starks will be looking to bounce back from an ACL tear that held him out the entire 2021-2022 season. Ford will look to continue to expand his game for his last campaign. The junior class is ready to step up as well and see what they can bring to the table. Overall, we will have to rely on the small ball this season, but our depth and selflessness should help us compete night in and night out.”
Starks (5-10, Sr.) was on the verge of having a huge junior year until he tore his ACL during the early part of football season. As a sophomore, he led the Tigers to a state tournament berth while averaging about 14 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists per contest. Alongside him will be Ford (5-10, Sr.), who looks to make a big impact for the team this season and be a strong player on both ends of the court. JT Rich (6-1, Sr.) is a senior that has waited his turn and is now primed for a great senior season. He has always been a great teammate and his great work ethic has put him in position to play major minutes in his final season.
Other Tigers to watch out for this season are Connor Jensen (5-10, Fr.), Caden Garrett (6-3, Jr.), Grant Henry (5-10, Jr.), Cade MacKenzie (6-3, Sr.), Wyatt Thompson (5-9, Sr.), Avery Eischen (5-10, Sr.), Aaron Epperson (5-8, Sr.), Gabe Pearson (6-2, Jr.), Cade Ellison (6-2, Jr).
