Coweta

Coweta Volleyball Preview – Presented by Redbud Physical Therapy

Head coach Tony Ramos has a young team that loves to compete.

“We look to improve every day. We have four seniors, that will lead the team. A young, mixed group of juniors and sophomores, that includes two of last year starters. We will compete hard as a team,” said Ramos.

One of the leaders this season will be Lexie Shauffler who is a three-sport athlete for the Lady Tigers.

“My teammates and my expectations for the season are too build good team chemistry, in order to exceed further than just talent this season. Although talent is important in volleyball, we all believe when adversity hits, chemistry will trump talent. We all hope to host regionals this year and proceed to state. Then, to top everything off win state,” said Shauffler. “I enjoy playing with this group because we all get along and have great chemistry together and we love to have fun, but we all know when to pull it together when it’s time to play. We also push each other to do our best and I think that’s how we will succeed this year. These girls are so much fun to play with and I wouldn’t trade them for anything.”

Other players to watch this season include Bailee Belt, Taylor Welborn, Keyleigh Howard-Wapaha, Katy Payne, Olivia Brand, Karly Laverty, Chloe Doerr, Avery Little, Keelie Kannady, Sydney Morton, Abby Upton, Felicity Pollardo, and Sydney Skaggs.
