VYPE: What are your personal goals for the upcoming year?
Katy: My personal goals are to improve on my leadership for the team and become the best version of myself for my teammates.
VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?
Katy: The most fun I have had is when our volleyball team took a trip to Branson for a camp and played a game downstairs that brought us all closer together.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?
Katy: My favorite teacher is Coach Littledave because I always knew I was going to have a good day when I walked into his classroom.
VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?
Katy: My favorite athletic memory is when Chloe Doerr had an amazing hit and Maddi Swift got so excited she just about pushed her halfway across the court.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
Katy: Jamie Sweetin, a senior class of 2022, never let me get down on myself. She was always right behind me telling me I am ok and to keep trying. She never failed to make everyone laugh and she taught me to always fight for what you want because it is never gonna get handed to you.
VYPE: Who on your team has the best impression of your coach and who says the funniest things during games?
Katy: Taylor Welborn has the best impression of my coach because she gives constructive criticism to all of her teammates without coming off bossy, as she is trying to uplift her teammates while also making them better. Taylor always knows when her teammates need her input instead of our coach. Sydney Skaggs always keeps everyone laughing no matter the circumstance, as she cracks jokes and always smiles.
VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?
Katy: The vacation I would like to go on would be the Bahamas. I would love to see the gorgeous beaches and eat all the different types of food.
VYPE: If we gave you $500 and you had to spend it in the next 24 hours, what would you spend it on?
Katy: I would definitely go to Lululemon.
VYPE: Here is your chance to say hello, goodbye or thank you to anyone you wish.
Katy: I would love to say thank you to all of my coaches throughout the years for never letting me give up on the sport I truly love and pushing me past my limits to make me a stronger athlete, mentally, and physically. I also want to say thank you to my teammates. I love each and every one of them; we will always have all the memories we have made and the friendships that have grown stronger. I will never forget all the laughs and stories that were told. I love them all so much. A final thank you to my mom for always supporting me and being my biggest hype man. I love you and thank you for never letting me give up on my dream.
