Hi, what are you looking for?

Jenks

Getting to know Jenks’ Logan Tibbett – Presented by BancFirst Jenks

VYPE: When and how did you first get into playing your sport?

Logan: I started playing baseball when I was four years old. When I was little, I played a lot of sports. Baseball was just the one that I liked the most.

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?

Logan: One thing that baseball has taught me that I use in my daily life is how to deal with adversity. Baseball has taught me to push through adversity and not let it hold me back.

VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?

Logan: My favorite part of being on a team is the companionship that you get from being on the team.  Through baseball, I have met some lifelong friends, and I feel like that is something that you only really get from sports.

VYPE: Who inspires you and why?

Logan: Someone that inspires me is my hitting instructor Dylan Delso.  He played college baseball and eventually professional baseball, but early in his professional career he fell down a flight of stairs and suffered a traumatic brain injury.  This ended his baseball career.  He inspires me because of his positive outlook on life.  His brain injury was tragic but he doesn’t let that affect his outlook on life, and that is inspiring to me.

VYPE: What has been your favorite memory of playing?

Logan: My favorite memory of playing has been winning a state championship as a sophomore.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?

Logan: Mrs. Presley, my second-grade teacher, was my favorite teacher ever.  The reason she was my favorite teacher is because she believed in me.  When I told her I was going to be a successful baseball player, she believed in me.

VYPE: Which professional athlete do you look up to and why?

Logan: There are a lot of athletes that I admire, one of my favorite athletes is Josh Jacobs.  The reason I look up to him is because of his circumstances, he came from nothing and used athletics as a way to survive.  His ability to push through unfortunate circumstances and come out successful is very admirable.

VYPE: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?

Logan: The best advice that I’ve been given is to work hard and prepare, and then focus at the moment on whatever you’re trying to accomplish.  Whatever happens after that is God’s will

VYPE: Here is your chance to give a shoutout or say thank you to anyone you wish.

Logan: I want to thank my parents for always pushing me to be the best that I could be.  They’ve always been very supportive of my goals, and they’ve invested a lot of time and money into helping me get to where I’m at, and for that, I’m very grateful. I love you guys.
