Glenpool’s Jessalyn Eller – Tech Spotlight – Presented By Tulsa Tech

By Derrick Smith

There are many things that go into being successful in life. One of the more important things is preparation. Jessalyn Eller is preparing for her future by attending Tulsa Tech.

“I am in the photography program at Tech,” she said. “I started taking pictures just to play around and then it turned out I was actually good at it. I feel like Tulsa Tech is preparing me for whatever kind of people come my way and how to treat people professionally.”

Tulsa Tech offers a large number of options and varieties of programs. Jessalyn says she first heard about Tulsa Tech from a friend and says she would recommend it to anyone that is interested in one of the programs offered.

“One of my friends that was in color guard with me was in the photography program,” she said. “She told me how good it was and she is really the one that got me to like photography so much. If someone is not sure if they want to go to Tech or not, I would definitely say do it. It is so much fun, you are able to learn so much, and you become part of a family.”

Jessalyn Eller is a junior at Glenpool High School where she is a member of the color guard and the band. She has enjoyed her time in both groups and enjoys the pregame ritual that they do.

“The rush before we walk out onto the field is one of the things I enjoy most about being a member of the color guard and band,” she said. “My favorite memory is that before every game or performance, the color guard group does a silly dance to get all the nerves out and to calm everyone down.”

If there was someone that Eller would consider a role model or someone that she looked up to, her choice would be those that went before her.

“The seniors in the group have been big influences on my life,” she said. “For the amount of energy they put out and they are so helpful to the group.”
