Sapulpa junior Hudson Ledford is a member of the varsity track team and a competitor in several events.
“This season was a lot of fun for me, and it was a great experience. Through the season, I have competed in the 100-meters, 200-meters, 400-meters, long jump, 4×100, 4×200 and 4×400 relays,” said Ledford.
This season Ledford set a goal to improve his personal best times and he accomplished it in a big way.
“I feel I mostly improved in the sprints. My times continued to get better throughout the year, and I still have more room for improvement,” said Ledford.
Throughout the season, Ledford enjoyed being with his teammates and making the road trips to represent SHS.
“I love the support and the competitiveness we bring to practice every day. Iron sharpens iron, we push each other to get better. My favorite moment from this season is definitely when our 4×400 qualified for state at regionals,” said Ledford.
A five-year veteran of track, Ledford also plays football and is a member of FCA. One day, Ledford hopes to compete at the next level while pursuing a degree. But before he takes his talents to the next level, Ledford said he’s looking forward to competing as a senior.
“Our team is going to be a lot faster in the sprints and our team as a whole is going to be more complete. To my team, we had a really good season this year and we are going to be a lot better next year. We just need to work hard for it if we want it all. We have the tools to succeed. To the seniors, thank you guys for being great leaders and representing what this team and school is all about. I couldn’t be more grateful for all of you. To my coaches, you guys have been amazing and supportive throughout this season. Thank you for all of the encouragement and great coaching,” said Ledford.
