Kate Dixon
Jenks High School
In her first year of varsity golf, Kate Dixon is excited to represent Jenks and her teammates in competition. Dixon said the team is shaping up nicely and they are ready to take on a tough tournament schedule.
“The Jenks girls golf team is looking pretty good for this season, and we are excited to play,” said Dixon.
Being a student-athlete with the Trojans is special and for Dixon it means meeting new people and raising her game.
“I like being a high school athlete at Jenks because of the people I get to meet and get closer with as the season goes on and the competitiveness of the sport,” said Dixon.
A golfer since the age of nine, Dixon is focused on golf, but it’s not the only thing she spends a lot of time doing. Her grades are just as important.
“My favorite subject in school is biology and my favorite teacher is my biology teacher,” said Dixon.
Coming into this season Dixon has worked to improve certain areas of her game to help her score and her team be successful in team scoring.
“I’ve worked to improve my full swing,” said Dixon. “I love how we all know how it is when we play good or bad and how we all get along so good together.”
Like many of her peers, Dixon has a favorite course to play and when she’s not on the course you can find her hanging out with friends.
“I’m a member at the Golf Club of Oklahoma and I love to play that course because of how hard it is,” said Dixon. “In my free time I like to go out and play golf and hangout with my friends and family.”
