OFFENSE 

The Trojans are back as coach Trent Worley enters his fourth season as head coach. “Very excited about the 2022 season. We return numerous starters on both sides of the ball including every starting DB and starting DL. Additionally, we will have some younger players play significant roles as starters or backups. We have a challenging schedule, but we are very optimistic,” said coach Worley. One of the eight starters returning for the Trojans is Parker Cusick (6-0, 175, Sr.) at slot-back. Cusick had 49 carries for 330 yards and three TDs last year. He’s also a threat in the passing game. Nick Byrd (6-0, 170, Sr.) joins Cusick at slot where he added 238 yards of his own. Brayden Barber (6-1, 170, Sr.) had a good season at wide receiver last year catching 34 balls for 598 yards and seven TDs. Tate Rader (6-0, 165, Sr.) is another skill player coach Worley will use in multiple ways. Trey Ashford (6-4, 190, Sr.) starts at tight end and Jaxon Worley (6-3, 180, Jr.) will start at quarterback. 

DEFENSE 

Nine players return to the defense including Jentry Pendergraft (6-0, 210, Jr.) at defensive end where he made 85 tackles, 24 for loss and 13 sacks. Justiz Pendergraft (6-0, 170, Sr.) will play opposite DE spot where he accounted for 74 tackles, two sacks, and three fumble recoveries last season. Trent Buntin (6-1, 250, Sr.) anchors the defensive line from his nose guard spot. Buntin had 57 tackles a year ago with six sacks. Connor McCarty (5-8, 150, Sr.) is a hard-hitting safety who managed 88 tackles and two pass breakups last year. Also look for Byrd in the secondary at safety. Byrd made 74 tackles and had one interception in 2021. Dillon Madden (5-10, 155, Sr.) made 23 tackles from his corner position and recorded three interceptions. The Trojans will base in a 3-3-5 defense with multiple fronts and coverages. They will look to pressure the QB and play aggressive.
