VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?
GB: My goals for my senior season were to win a state championship, make all-state, and enjoy my last time playing soccer. My personal goals next year are to grow spiritually at ORU and to push myself and earn minutes on the court my freshman year.
VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?
GB: I had the most fun at the Deer Creek tournament this season and just spent time with the team in the locker room!
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade, and why?
GB: There are so many amazing teachers I have been blessed with over the years, but one of my all-time favorite teachers was my 2nd-grade teacher Ms. Dana Preston. She was always so fun and energetic, and she was so intentional and genuine with everything she did for us. She kept everything interactive and we had a class pet tarantula named Hairy Mary:)
VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?
GB: My favorite team memory was beating Jenks my sophomore year in the first round of playoffs
AND making the winning pk with a minute left in the broken arrow game my senior year.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
GB: The teammate who had left the biggest impression on me this soccer season is Annabella Trotter (now a senior) because She has been through a lot this year with her ACL tear before I got here from basketball, but she is one of the best teammates I’ve ever had and hasn’t let her injury affect the way she treats others. Her positive energy and smile is contagious and I couldn’t be more grateful to have had this last year with her.
VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?
GB: Everyone’s passion for the actual game and how we always made every situation fun. everyone plays for each other and there is so much love on our team it makes the game more fun to play and it was a great environment to be involved in. Also having coaches that care about you as a person and not only as an athlete means the world to players and I have experienced that all 4 years of high school.
VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation. Where do you go, and who do you take with you?
GB: I would go to Greece and I would take my family:)
VYPE: If we gave you $500 and you had to spend it in the next 24 hours, what would you spend it on?
GB: I would help my parents out and give them probably $100 each so they could get something and then me and my sister would probably go shopping and spend it all on clothes.
VYPE: Do you participate in any community service projects?
GB: I was with an organization called NCL (National Charity League) for 4 years and we partnered with a lot of non-profit organizations to support Alzheimer’s awareness, breast cancer institutions, the American heart association, and so many other organizations!
VYPE: What Clubs or Campus groups are you involved with and why?
GB: As far as high school went I wasn’t really involved in any clubs outside of athletics but I competed at the varsity level in Basketball, Soccer, Softball, and Track. For college I will be in the Honors Program but aside from basketball I don’t know if I will be in any groups or clubs:)
VYPE: Are you involved in academic excellence activities such as the National Honor
Society, Student Council, or other academic clubs?
GB: I was involved in NHS (National Honor Society) and Athletic Advisory Council.
