Coweta

Q&A with Coweta’s Kaitlin Beddall- Presented By Arkansas Verdigris Valley Health Centers

VYPE: How long have you played golf?

Kaitlin: I used to hit at the driving range with my dad when I was really little but officially started playing my freshman year, so four years.

VYPE: How do you balance your time between sports and academics or other activities?

Kaitlin: I have a few hours in the morning to get lots of my college work done and other school work so that’s really helpful in balancing all the activities.

VYPE: Do you have any goals this year in golf, academics, or other activities?

Kaitlin: This year I would really like to score better during golf tournaments. I’ve been working really hard so I’m really excited.

VYPE: What is your favorite drill to do in training and why?

Kaitlin: It’s called a ‘held drill’. I place my bottom hand flat against the grip of the club while my other hand grips the club normally, it really helps get my hands in the right spot to make good contact.

VYPE: What are your strengths and what have you improved on the most over the course of your high school career?

Kaitlin: One of my biggest improvements is my irons. I’ve started making better contact and hitting them further.

VYPE: What are your thoughts on this season from both an individual and team standpoint?

Kaitlin: Individually I think I’m in decent shape to perform the way I want to and I think with more preparation our team is in good shape to do well.

VYPE: What’s your most memorable sports moment during your high school career?

Kaitlin: Definitely qualifying for regionals for the first time. The coach and I didn’t think I’d make it and when they called my name. We were so excited and it was a really awesome experience.

VYPE: What do you love most about being a student-athlete at your school and why?

Kaitlin: I love that the school is small enough that the coaches can give athletes individual attention. I think it helps us progress faster as athletes.

VYPE: What do you enjoy doing in your free time? What are some of your hobbies?

Kaitlin: I really enjoy playing golf with my dad and spending time with my family and friends.

VYPE: What qualities do you think make someone a good teammate or leader?

Kaitlin: I think one quality that makes a really good leader is always being willing to help. A team is only as good as its weakest link and it’s a leader’s job to make sure all the teammates are doing the best they can be.

VYPE: What are your plans after high school?

Kaitlin: I plan to attend TCC’s medical sonography program and specialize in prenatal sonography.
