Hi, what are you looking for?

Sand Springs

Q&A with Sand Springs’ Addie Ray – Presented by BancFirst Sand Springs

VYPE: What goals do you have for this year?
Addie: My goal is to improve every time I play and learn as much as I can from the leaders on our team.

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?
Addie: It has taught me to show up every day ready to work and to be grateful for the
opportunity to play something that I really enjoy.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?
Addie: I really enjoyed all my teachers at Sand Springs, but I’m really looking forward to my English class with Mrs. Pride because I love to read and write.

VYPE: Who inspires you and why?
Addie: My mom has worked really hard to get where she is at, and she goes out of her way to serve her community as a physician and volunteer. She inspires me everyday to keep working for what I want.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
Addie: Evyn Morrow works hard every single day and inspires everyone to push
themselves to be great. She has been welcoming and kind, and everyone looks up to her. She is a great leader and I am so lucky to have the opportunity to play with her.

VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?
Addie: I love building a relationship with people who have a common goal, and teamwork is a life skill that we need, and it’s great to be part of something positive in my school community.

VYPE: Who in your family is the best athlete? Explain.
Addie: My younger brother Tyler is really good at football and basketball. What impresses me about him is the work he puts in outside of his team practices. He is in a house with all sisters, so I can see how he likes to play sports and be around his friends.

VYPE: What’s one sport you wish you could play that you don’t already play?
Addie: Golf, my dad really likes it, and I know we will have fun playing it together later in life.

VYPE: What profession would you like to work in?
Addie: I would love to work in Criminal Law in some way because I have a passion for justice and I believe I can be instrumental in effecting change.
