Sand Springs

Sand Springs Fast-Pitch Softball Preview – Presented by Eric Davidson State Farm

The Sand Springs Lady Sandites are looking forward to kicking off fall competition and hope to make a run at the state tournament this season. “Our team will be young in many positions with some seniors sprinkled in the lineup,” head coach Shelli Brown said. “The team has worked hard this spring and I am encouraged with what I saw at practice and in games.” Jaden Jordan (1B, Sr.) is a VYPE Top 100 Nominee and will be returning for her final season with the Lady Sandites. Jordan will start at first base this year and is great in the infield with a solid glove and quick reactions. She provides power to the batting lineup, makes great contact with the ball, and is one of the senior leaders on and off the field.

Kelsi Hilton (P, SS, Jr.) led the team in the circle and at shortstop in 2021. She has a great work ethic at practice and in the classroom. Coaches remark that she is a leader for the team, an excellent student, and a player underclassman can look up to. A young player that coaches say to keep an eye on this year is Addie Hughes (P, 1B, So.). Hughes is expected to have more time in the circle during her sophomore season after a great freshman year. She is expected to take big steps forward this season and provide leadership to fellow young team members and provide an encouraging voice in the dugout. Coach Brown said Hughes should get some significant time in the lineup.

Erika Silver (3B, Sr.) will be a senior this year and wants to end her career at Sand Springs on a high note. Silver has battled through injuries in her first few seasons and coaches are excited to see her make a big impact now that she is healthy and ready to compete. Other players to look for include: Olivia Alexander (C, Sr.), Kaden Barnes (3B, Sr.), Abigail Glasgow (2B, Sr.), Nataley Crawford (SS, OF, Sr.), Kelby Little (3B, Sr.), Abigail Wakefield (2B, Sr.), Kelsi Hilton (P, SS, Jr.), Morgan Rector (OF, Jr.), Ashlyn Clark (OF, So.), Kenzi King (OF, So.), Mikena Stephens (UT, So.), Emma Stang (SS, 2B, Fr.), and Audree Robinson (C, Fr.).
