It’s a new day for the wrestling team at Sapulpa High School and with several returning starters in the lineup, the Chieftains will surprise a few teams this season.
Sapulpa comes into the season ranked No. 10 in Class 5A. State placer Cavin Peper returns after placing fourth at 106-pounds last year. Peper is currently ranked No. 2 at 113-pounds. Look for Peper to lead the way this season.
Ethan Peterson was a state qualifier at 132-pounds last season but coming into the 2022-23 season Peterson is ranked No. 1 at 150-pounds.
Also look for Cooper Thomas who made the state tournament at 170-pounds last year and is expected to wrestle at 190 this year. Thomas is currently ranked No. 4.
