VYPE: What are your goals for this season?
Garrett: To win a regional and a state championship.
VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?
Garrett: That you’re not going to succeed everyday, but you have to learn to forget about it and move on to the next day.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?
Garrett: Mr. Lusk. I’ve had him in 6th grade, 11th and 12th grade, and he was my cross country coach, and he always brings positivity and always wants to help you and help you learn and get better at whatever you’re doing. He is just a great person and a teacher everyone should want.
VYPE: Who inspires you and why?
Garrett: My dad. He has always inspired me to be a better person and how to be a leader, and always cheers me on during my baseball games.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
Garrett: There have been many teammates that have left a great impression on me, but the first person that first comes to mind is Evan Casey. He was always teaching me on the field and off the field, and he would drive me to every baseball practice, and he was that one older guy I could always look up to.
VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?
Garrett: I love when we get competitive and all are working for the same thing, and the memories we make, and all the fun times we have.
VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?
Garrett: Turks and Caicos. It’s beautiful there. I’ve heard it’s an amazing time, and we would go to the beach, and I would take the boys – Hayden, Joe, Gage, Malachi, Kash and Logan.
VYPE: Why are you passionate about your sport?
Garrett: I’ve always loved playing and watching baseball. I love that it’s the hardest sport and it’s a big mental game. There is just so much that goes into it. I love it!
VYPE: Here is your chance to say hello, goodbye or thank you to anyone you wish.
Garrett: I want to say thank you to all of my family, friends, coaches and teammates for everything you guys do for me and always pushing me to be better.
