Shaun Blalock

Sapulpa High School

Soccer season has arrived, and Sapulpa High School’s Shaun Blalock is ready to take the pitch and compete with his teammates. For Blalock, representing his school and competing is what sports are all about.

“I love the culture we have built for Sapulpa High School athletics. My team is coming along excellent. Everyone is looking strong and healthy, and I believe we will be a major threat this season,” said Blalock.

Now a junior, Blalock started playing soccer when he was only three years old. Blalock and his teammates have set big goals for themselves this season.

“Not just my goal, but my team’s goal is to win every game and go all the way this season. The effort we’ve put in during practices and weightlifting will pay off for sure this season,” said Blalock.

This is a close group for Sapulpa and their chemistry could be the difference as they look to do something no Sapulpa soccer team has ever accomplished. Blalock has continued to improve his game in preparation for the season.
“I love that I’ve known my teammates for my entire life almost, we all grew up playing soccer with each other. The most improved part of my game this season is my defensive coordination,” said Blalock.

Away from sports, Blalock said his favorite subject is Anatomy and his favorite teacher is Mrs. Bacon. After high school, He is considering entering a trade such as HVAC.

In his free time Blalock said he enjoys hanging out with his girlfriend, playing video games, or just kicking a ball around.
