Coach: Rudy Garcia
21-22 Record: 12-10
The Redhawks have made two trips to the state tournament in the past five years. And while they have a lot of underclassmen, there is some excitement for the upcoming season.
“We are a young team that has to grow up quickly,” said head coach Rudy Garcia, who is in his 28th season leading the team. “Our chemistry is good and we have several new players that will make an impact along with the three starters we have coming back.”
Cedric Dixon (6-3, Jr.) and Dalen Fuller (6-3, Jr.) are both starters that are back this season. Last year, Fuller averaged twelve points and three rebounds while Dixon tallied nine points along with two assists per game. An outstanding shooter, Cedric will look to be a key player shooting the ball this year and Dalen is a very explosive player on both ends of the court.
Incoming freshman, Miles Flemmons (6-7, Fr.) brings his height and abilities to the team. He has very good skills and can shoot the ball from all three levels. Erik Madrid (7-1, Jr.) will look to play a bigger role for the Redhawks this season. He had an average of five points and three rebounds per game last year and after working hard in the offseason, he hopes to make a bigger contribution. Another player that is ready to get on the floor and be an impact player is Javian Mims (6-7, Sr.).
Other players to watch for this season are Korbin Gunn (6-0, So.), Kenneth Dorsey (6-1, Jr.), Journey Jones (6-1, Jr.), Mike Gilyard (5-11, Jr.), Moses Miller (6-1, Jr.), Ethan Bowen (6 son Malham (6-1, Jr.).
