Athletes of all sports put in a lot of work so that they can be at their best when competition time rolls around. Some even search for extra help to give them a competitive advantage. Audrey Brown is one of those. Besides playing tennis for Bishop Kelley High School, she also attends the Tucker Tennis Academy at RH91 and she says that has played a big role in her success.
“It has taken lots of practice to get where I am today,” she said. “I have had to lose a lot to work hard enough to win. The Tucker Tennis Academy has been great for me. They have helped me a lot with my game through training and pushing me to be my best.”
Brown is a senior at Bishop Kelley. Along with playing tennis, she is also heavily involved in other parts of the school
“I am a Comet Ambassador for the school,” Audrey stated. “That is where I help give campus tours and show people around. I am also in the link crew where I welcome the incoming freshman and help them through the year. I am a part of the National Honor Society because of my grades and service hours.”
Throughout her life, Audrey has had a number of people that have had an impact on her and helped her along the way.
“My parents are my biggest role models because they work very hard for our family,” she said. “Also my coaches have trained me my whole life. Coach Tiffany has taught me how to have fun but still be competitive in tennis. Professional tennis player, Serena Williams is a great role model and she never gives up.”
Brown has spent a lot of time on the tennis courts which has allowed her to make some great memories on and off the court.
“I think the highlight moment of my career would have to be winning line two singles at state my sophomore year and winning as a team,” she recalled. “It was great to see all of our hard work pay off. It means a lot to me that I get to represent my school and community which I love to do, especially when they come out to watch.”
