There is a lot of work that goes into an athlete reaching their full potential. And while the work is important, they also depend on the support and help of those around them along the way. Olivia Brown is a senior at Lincoln Christian and she has a group of people that she says has helped her get to where she is, both as a person and an athlete.
“My parents have been the biggest influences on my life,” she said. “They are the reason why my softball dreams are coming true. They are always there for me and push me to be the best version of myself. Coach Jeff Campbell has always believed in me and encouraged me to be better in the classroom and on the field. And my teammate, Adyson Roberts always pushed me to play at a higher level and become a better player overall.”
Brown plays softball and golf for the Bulldogs. Outside of sports, she is a member of the National Honor Society and the Student Council.
Throughout her career, Olivia has learned a lot and has used that knowledge to continually grow her game.
“My hitting coach, Mandy Sullivent, has always taught me that success will come when I work daily on the physical and mental aspects of the game.”
Brown knows that when she puts on the Lincoln Christian uniform, she is playing for more than just herself. She is a representative of her school and classmates.
“It is a huge honor that I’ve never taken for granted,” she said. “I am so thankful Coach Ragland, Coach Campbell, and Coach Ryan have given me such an amazing opportunity to wear a Lincoln jersey.”
There have been many memories that Brown has made as an athlete at Lincoln Christian. She says that those moments will stay with her for a long time.
“The highlight moment of my career so far would have to be when I hit in the winning run to win districts and go on to play in regionals in the last inning,” she recalled. “My other is playing alongside some great teammates. We as a team enjoy every win. We look forward to playing good competition.
After she graduates from Lincoln Christian in May, Olivia plans to attend Seminole State College to further her athletic and academic careers.
