Coach: Tim VanDuser
21-22 Record: 9-16
The Eagles had a tough season a year ago, but as they embark on a clean slate, third-year head coach Tim VanDuser says that his squad should have a good season. “We are a junior and sophomore heavy team,” he said. “We also have about 90 percent of our scoring from last year returning. We have added a couple of new faces to the program this year, which should help us round out our team with a great inside-out game. Overall, I like the makeup of our team and I think that we will do well this season.”
Leading the team will be last years MVP Tucker Morris (6-1, Jr.). He is a very coachable kid that just understands the sport of basketball and finds a way to help his team whenever he is struggling to score. Tucker spends a lot of time in the gym working on his game. He is a leader among his teammates on and off the floor.
Ronnie Peterson (5-11, Jr.) is a great leader on the floor and has a knack for always being in the right place at the right time. He will do whatever it takes to help his team win. After playing point guard last season, Carson Banham (5-11, So.) returns to continue his role in that position because he just makes things happen. He has a never quit mentality and is willing to put his body in harm’s way to help his team.
Other Eagles that have worked hard and are ready to jump in whenever called on are Connor Banham (6-0, Sr.), Gage Skinner (5-10, Jr.), Elliot Cowan (6-2, Jr.), Brayden Goyer (6-4, Jr.), James Logan (6-0, So.), Peyton Murray (6-0, So.), Gary Garnatz (6-5, So.), George Petts (6-5, So.), and Eli Campbell (6-0, So.). The assistant coaches are Tyler Mitchell and John Phillips.
