Victory Christian Basketball Spotlight – Laci Scott – Presented by Oklahoma Driving School

Laci Scott has had a number of influences throughout her life that have helped shape her into the person and the athlete that she is today. While some of those role models may be athletes, she says that there are a few people that have had a big impact on her and who she is.

“The biggest role models in my life are my parents,” Scott said. “I look up to them because they continue to put God first and enjoy every moment of every day. Also, they are my biggest supporters. Another person that influenced me was my English teacher in sixth grade because she showed kindness through every situation.”

As a junior at Victory Christian School, Laci plays point guard on the basketball team. While she enjoys playing basketball, Scott says that there is another reason she enjoys playing basketball for her school.

“My team always has my back and they should be appreciated for how much they support and care for each other and me,” she said. “I have some great teammates. I enjoy working against Tia Orr because she always knows what moves I’m gonna make and makes me expand my creativity with my play. The least appreciated player on my team I would say is Trinity Clark because she always gives everything 100% effort even though she’s new and doesn’t know every single detail of the plays.”

Every time she steps onto the court in her Conqueror uniform, Laci knows that she is representing more than just her team.

“It means so much to be able to represent this school and community because I put so much into this sport and they appreciate and support me so much throughout this process,” she stated. “I love being able to play for my school and community. It means more than anything to be able to give it my all and constantly be able to have fun enjoying the game.”

Along with the support and love of others, Scott has put in countless hours of work to continually become better. She says that it takes a lot in order to be your best.

“It takes a disciplined and consistent mindset,” she said. “You have to willing to work to be your best.”
