Victory Christian Conquerors Girls Basketball Preview – Presented by Oklahoma Driving School

Coach: Larry Owens

21-22 Record: 14-9

The Victory Christian girls’ basketball team is no stranger to postseason runs. In the last five seasons, they have advanced to the state tournament three times.

While they have missed out on the last two years, they are looking to get back this season. Third-year head coach, Larry Owen, brings back one senior for this season and he will be looking for the younger players to step up and fill the open positions. After sitting out last season, Tia Orr (5-7, Sr.) returns for her senior campaign. She is committed to doing everything she can to help the team to be successful. Orr is a solid basketball player and a hard worker.

Laci Scott (5-6, Jr.) can score at all three levels, and she has a smooth mid-range game. She can lock up any guard and she is all gas no brakes. Katie Elliott (5-7, Jr.) will be a key player on the defensive end of the court, working to slow down opposing offenses. She is a vocal leader and is also a sniper at the three-point line.

Another player that is back after sitting out last season is Mia Brown (5-5, Jr.). She is an outstanding athlete and is ready to showcase her talents on the court. She has worked hard in the offseason and that should show when she plays.

Other players to watch for this season are Launa Soto (5-6, Jr.), Trinity Cato (5-6, So.), Cannie Farquahar (5-5, So.), Eden Edwards (5-4, So.), and Karis Reese (5-5, Jr.).

Assistant coaches will be Hannah Nethon and Bailey Harvey.
