Evan Migliore is a dedicated and determined athlete attending Victory Christian High School. With a passion for both basketball and tennis, he has spent countless hours honing his skills and striving for excellence in both sports. His favorite saying, “Working hard doesn’t get you results unless you work hard consistently,” has become his mantra, a reminder to stay focused and committed.
When it comes to basketball, Evan looks up to Nikola Jokic, the Denver Nuggets’ star center. Despite lacking athleticism, Jokic’s basketball IQ and skill set made him one of the top players in the league. Evan admires his ability to overcome physical limitations and succeed through hard work and determination. “I work on my shot, strength and footwork almost ever day. We want to win a state championship in basketball this winter. I am dedicated to doing every little thing I can to help us reach that goal.”
At Victory Christian High School, Evan has found not only athletic inspiration but also academic support from his favorite teacher, Mr. Funderburk. Known for his ability to build strong relationships with his students, Mr. Funderburk played a significant role in Evan’s education and personal growth. Evan has a 4.0 GPA.
Among his teammates, Solomon Granderson left the biggest impression on Evan. Witnessing Granderson’s remarkable progress showcased the power of consistent hard work. It served as a constant reminder that with dedication and perseverance, one can achieve significant growth and improvement.
When Evan envisions his dream vacation, he pictures himself exploring various national parks in the western United States. From Glacier National Park in Montana to Zion National Park in Utah, and Yosemite National Park in California, he longs to immerse himself in nature’s beauty and challenge himself with rigorous hikes. After two weeks of adventure, Evan would relax and unwind on the sunny shores of Oceanside, California, spending quality time with his family.
Evan’s love for basketball started in first grade, driven by his desire to follow in the footsteps of his older brother. Inspired by his brother’s dedication, Evan embarked on his own athletic journey and committed himself to the sport he loved.
Matthew 5:16 “Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven,” holds special meaning for Evan and representing Victory Christian High School hold’s a special place in Evan’s heart. Every time he steps onto the court, he strives to not only represent his school but also his faith in Christ. Being able to combine his love for sports with his religious beliefs is a unique opportunity that Evan cherishes.
Finally, the best advice Evan has ever received came from Coach Ted: “Imagine yourself having success.” These words served as a constant reminder for Evan to visualize his goals and believe in his ability to achieve them. With this advice in his mind and his unwavering dedication, Evan pursues his dreams, both on and off the court, with determination and a resilient Christ-centered spirit. With a big smile Evan says “I can see me with my team-mates holding up a Gold ball in March. We just gotta put in the work and play as a team.”
