Edison Prep’s Josh Aquino – Tech Spotlight – Presented by Tulsa Tech

Josh Aquino has had a knack for designing things and being creative for a while. So it is no surprise that he found the perfect program at Tulsa Tech that will help him further that passion and possibly turn it into a career.

“I am in the Multimedia Design program at the Tulsa Tech Riverside Campus,” Aquino said. “I was interested in it at first because I’ve always liked graphic design and I could use it in my own hobbies like designing logos or thumbnails. I am also able to use it as a member of the Business Professionals of America when we are preparing to create our resumes which will be helpful in finding a job.”

Tulsa Tech became an option for Josh when he learned about it at school. He says that he would recommend it to anyone that is looking for help in getting into a career.

“I first heard about Tulsa Tech from my school counselor last year,” he said. “The thing that made me interested was the fact that Tech has always been something I’ve been interested in ever since I was little and the number of programs there was really appealing to me. Tech is so much fun and I’d recommend checking all of what you can do before deciding on a decision.”

Josh is a junior at Edison Preparatory School, where he is a member of the marching band. He says that he really enjoys band because of the fun time he has.

“The thing I enjoy the most is the fun I have with my friends working to do the best in our competitions,” he said. “I think the most memorable moment is the blackout shows we’ve done where we march in the dark with glow- up lights. We did it both last year and this year and it has been so fun to do.”

Though he has some good people in his life, Aquino says that some of the people that shaped him the most are the opponents they go up against.

“I think some of my biggest influences and role models have been people from other schools because I’ve seen how well they’ve be good like them.”
