If it’s big plays and hard hits that you like from a football player, then look no further than Will Rogers’ linebacker Emmon Simpkins. Now a senior, Simpkins said he has played football his entire life. Rogers head coach Levy Adcock said of Simpkins, “Emmon is the ultimate competitor at the linebacker position. He plays the game with an edge every play. He is the leader of our defense. He is the person that gets the defensive line lined up and communicates the call with them, then turns around and get the defensive backs all on the same page with the coverages. All this information would slow most people down, but it speeds Emmon up. His instinct for the football is second to none. Emmon returns after making 100-plus tackles his junior season and is primed to have another awesome senior season.” 

Simpkins is the ultimate team player and thrives on being in a leadership position. 

“What I love most about my teammates is how we help each other out,” Simpkins said. “They are my brothers, and we never give up.” 

Simpkins said he feels like his team and his teammates get overlooked and said many of them, including himself, would like to play in college.

“After I graduate, I would like to play in college. We get overlooked, but I know we can play at the next level,” said Simpkins.
