Charles Page High School senior Eli Buxton is one of the top players for the Sandites this season and coach Matt Brown said Buxton has always contributed to the success of the team from the mound.
“Eli has been a varsity contributor on the mound for his entire high school career. He has signed to pitch at Arizona State next year,” said Buxton.
Buxton said being part of the Sandite family is special to him and his teammates.
“I love how the students and staff are involved with all of the sports. I love how we all push each other to be better,” said Buxton.
The senior is a member of National Honor Society and said his favorite subject is math. Buxton has a goal of one day becoming a professional baseball player.
“I plan on going to college and making it to the M.L.B.”
For now, the focus is on the season and making the most of his final year as a prep player.
“The team is coming together really well, and we are all excited to get the season started.
My goal is to get better as a person and player and win our regional,” said Buxton.
In his free time, Buxton said he enjoys working out and spending time with family.
