Hi, what are you looking for?

Coweta

Q&A with Coweta’s Courtney Scott – Presented By Arkansas Verdigris Valley Health Centers

VYPE: What are your goals for this season?

Courtney: My goals for this season are to improve my golf game and focus during tournaments, and to go back to state again this year for my last year with my team.

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?

Courtney: Playing golf has taught me to be a little more patient and to think around obstacles that get in the way of my goals.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?

Courtney: My favorite teacher from any grade would have to be my sixth grade social studies teacher, Danny Williamson. We liked to call him “Coach Dan”. Coach Dan had one of those personalities that make you want to learn and is just fun to be around. The reason he is my favorite teacher is because he made learning about social studies fun and always made class interesting.

VYPE: Who inspires you and why?

Courtney: The people that inspire me are my parents because they seem to balance work and their free time for fun.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

Courtney: The teammate that has left the biggest impression on me is Kaitlin Beddall and the reason is that she always knows the right thing to say to cheer me up and makes practices more fun by making jokes.

VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?

Courtney: I would say my favorite part about being on a team is that even if you get down on yourself you have others to help pick you up. Even though golf is an individual and team sport you can still have a lot of fun on the way to tournaments and at practice.

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?

Courtney: The place I would pick for summer vacation would be Silver Dollar City or somewhere warm. The people I would take with me would be my family and my friends/Kaitlin Beddall. The reason is because these people make my days happy and fun.

VYPE: Why are you passionate about your sport?

Courtney: The reason I’m passionate about my sport is because I grew up around golf and because I love to play with my dad and my siblings. It is an awesome way to express yourself and challenge myself to be stronger at everything I do.

VYPE: Here is your chance to say hello, goodbye or thank you to anyone you wish.

Courtney: I would like to say thank you to Coach Dan, my teachers, my parents, and my friends. For always being there for me and helping me to be the person that I am today, by challenging myself to do my best at everything.
