Sapulpa’s Mia Narvaez-Cheerleading Spotlight-Presented by- Inkwell

Athletes put in a lot of time and effort to become the best they can at their chosen sport or sports. But all that work pays off when they see their success come to fruition. Mia Narvaez is a cheerleader at Sapulpa High School and she has had some successful moments during her career.
“I think the highlight moment of my career would have to be when we won the 2023 state championship for Stunt,” Mia recalled. “My favorite team we beat was Norman during stunt season. They’re a great team and it was a close match, so beating them was a big accomplishment for our team.”
Narvaez is in her senior year at Sapulpa. Along with cheer, she is a member of the National Honor Society, the Key Club, and Leadership.

There have been a number of people that have made an impact on her throughout her life, but she says that there is one person that has had a big influence on her.
“My biggest influence would have to be my coach,” Mia stated. “She’s the reason I get up early for practices, keep my grades up, and stay out of trouble. I respect the way she coaches, I love that she preaches the idea that we are not quitters and we always finish out strong.”
She has also had some outstanding teachers in the classroom that have also played a big role in her life.
“My favorite teacher would have to be Mr. Lusk,” Narvaez said. “He was my leadership teacher from junior year. He strongly encouraged community service within our class. Serving others helped my personal growth, developed my skills, and broadened my perspective on things. I learned to be humble and have compassion.”
Being able to wear her school colors and show her school spirit is something that Mia is proud to be able to do.
“I am honored that I get to represent my school on the sidelines during my time in high school,” she said.
