Jace Herald is a varsity basketball player at Collinsville High School and our next subject for 9 Questions with VYPE editor Brad Heath.

VYPE: What grade are you in and what position do you play on the basketball team?

Herald: I am a senior, and I play the small forward position. 

VYPE: How is the team coming together?

Herald: We have put in a lot of hard work over the off-season playing tournaments and challenging each other daily. That competitiveness is what brings us together. 

VYPE: What do you love most about being a student-athlete at Collinsville?
Herald: The support we get from the student body, teachers and administrators. We have a great student section and several teachers as well as administrators are at every game. 

VYPE: What’s the goal for this season?

Herald: My goal for our season is to continue to grow together as a team and go as far as we know we can. 


VYPE: What do you love most about your teammates at CHS?

Herald: They are my friends on and off the court. We support each other in everything we do. 

VYPE: Do you belong to any clubs or groups at school?

Herald: I am a four-year member of National Honor Society. 

VYPE: What’s your favorite subject in school and do you have a favorite teacher?

Herald: My favorite subject is definitely ELA. My favorite teacher is my mom, Alicia Herald. 

VYPE: What would you like to do after you graduate?

Herald: I plan to attend college at OSU and get a degree in business. 

VYPE: What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

Herald: Hanging out with my family, teammates, and friends.
