Kate Reid

Collinsville High School

Collinsville High School has enjoyed a lot of success with many of their athletic programs in recent memory. Players like Kate Reid are a big reason for that success. The junior shooting guard for the girls basketball team loves to represent her school and her classmates in competition.

“What I love about being a student-athlete at CHS is being able to be a multi-sport athlete,” said Reid.

The shooting guard, and sometimes a point guard, said the girls basketball team is working hard to get better every day and they are excited to get into the heart of the season.

“We are a young team, but I feel like our bond is getting stronger and stronger every day. We have done a lot of team bonding this year and I feel like that has helped us to be able to play as a team,” said Reid.

The goal for the season is simple, make it to the state tournament. Just getting there is an achievement, but Reid believes they have the players and the team unity to do more. While the team works hard to improve, they also find time to keep things loose.

“I love how we are always having fun and joking with each other,” said Reid.

Away from basketball, Reid is a member of National Honor Society, student leadership, and student council. Like many students, Reid has her favorites.

“My favorite subject in school is science and my favorite teacher is Mrs. Herald,” said Reid.

The future class of 2025 graduate said she is looking forward to that next chapter once it arrives.

“After I graduate high school, I would love to go to college to become a physical therapist, and then start a family sometime after that,” said Reid.

When she’s not competing in a sport or working on school assignments, you can usually find Reid spending time with family.
