Collinsville’s Madaxon Aunko – Baseball Spotlight – Presented by RibCrib

Collinsville High School

VYPE: Madaxon, what grade are you in this season and what position are you playing?

Aunko: I am a senior and I am a utility guy. I mainly play out in centerfield and pitch, but I am able to play all over the field.

VYPE: What do you enjoy most about being a student-athlete at Collinsville High School?

Aunko: What I love most about being a Collinsville student-athlete is the culture we have as a community. When I’m playing and look up in the stands it’s not just moms and dads it’s the town coming together to support the team.

VYPE: Tell us about your teammates. What do you like about these guys?

Aunko: What I love most about my teammates is it’s all or none. If a player on this team needs someone or something he can turn around and he’s got all 15-18 guys behind him.

VYPE: What’s the goal for this upcoming season?

Aunko: The goal for the 2024 season is nothing less than to win the last game. We keep getting close but close doesn’t mean anything and it’s time to put us on top in 5A in the state of Oklahoma.

VYPE: Are you involved with other clubs or groups at school?

Aunko: At school I am in leadership, student council, and am a class officer.

VYPE: Do you have a favorite subject or teacher at CHS?

Aunko: My favorite subject in school is math, and my favorite teacher is probably coach West.

VYPE: What would you like to do after you graduate?

Aunko: After I graduate, I am going to play baseball and study whatever I decide to study at Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth, Texas.

VYPE: What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

Aunko: In my free time I stay with baseball. Whether that’s MLB the Show or put on a game to watch or just filling out my dream lineups in my head. Baseball is all I love doing.

VYPE: What area of your game have you worked on the most?

Aunko: I’m always trying to find ways to outsmart my opponents, my IQ is by far puts me over most and just keeping and finding ways to be ahead of everyone else on the field.
