Owasso Mom of the Month – Staci Stover – Presented by Wheels and Thrills

Staci Stover and her husband of almost 20 years, Rhett, have made significant contributions to the Owasso High School girls basketball team.

Their daughter, Seldon, will be a senior for the Lady Rams this winter. Their son, Chiles, will be an Owasso freshman this year.

“I have volunteered with the Owasso basketball program since Seldon started with the program her eighth-grade year,” Stover said. “I have been a member of the Booster Club for 5 years and have held a position as vice president and president. We plan meals, activities, decorate locker rooms, fundraising, amongst other things to support our athletes and coaches.”

Through her efforts, Stover has inherited the title of “team mom.”

“I have been blessed and fortunate to be a stay-at-home mom, which has given me the opportunity to be involved and volunteer with all of my kids’ sports and activities. When Seldon started with the program in eighth grade, I helped with anything that was needed,” Stover said. “Growing up playing sports, my parents were involved and supportive of me and my teammates and always present. That has always motivated me to be as involved as I can with my kids’ sports and activities.”

Stover has learned more about herself along the way. Being responsible for certain tasks outside of her comfort zone has stretched her, but especially with Seldon’s senior year approaching, “it’s all worth it in the end.”

“I see how quickly the time passes and how much I will miss the long hours, high stress, serving meals and watching these kids run up and down that court,” Stover said. “The kids, families and coaches you meet along the way have become great friends of mine that I cherish. It takes a village to raise kids and run sports programs and I am proud to support the Owasso Rams.”

Stover hopes her kids will heed her support for their activities and pay it forward when they become parents themselves.

“I want them to know I was always present and willing to help in any way I could and that I love and support them in all that they do,” Stover said. “I hope they remember that for their own children and anything they are passionate about in life and always look to serve others, not just themselves.”
