Collinsville High School’s Kane Abshire is a member of the varsity basketball team and the subject for this edition of 9 Questions.

VYPE: Kane, what do you love most about being a student-athlete at Collinsville High School?

Abshire: I love that I can inspire younger kids and help them getting better at basketball.

VYPE: What grade are you in this season and what position are you playing for coach Todd Anderson?

Abshire: I’m a junior and I’m a forward/center.

VYPE: What do you love most about your team and teammates at CHS?

Abshire: The way everyone helps each other and brings you up.

VYPE: Do you belong to any clubs or groups at school?
Abshire: No, I’m just focused on school and basketball.

VYPE: Do you have a favorite subject and/or favorite teacher?
Abshire: My favorite subject is math. I’m not very good at it but I have the best teacher Mrs. Keri Houts.

VYPE: What is the goal this season for the basketball team?
Abshire: Our goal is to play to the best of our ability every practice and every game.

VYPE: What would you like to do after you graduate?
Abshire: I don’t know yet, but college first.

VYPE: What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Abshire: When I have free time I am usually eating and getting shots up.

VYPE: Now that the season is underway, how do you think the team is coming along?
Abshire: We’ve come a long way since our first scrimmage. We’re doing really well but always got stuff to work on.
