Hi, what are you looking for?

Owasso

Q&A with graduating Owasso senior Chrinasia “Nay Nay” Elbert – Presented by J-P Hogan Insurance

VYPE: Were you nervous at all to move to Owasso your junior year? What were some things that helped you get through that?
Chrinasia Elbert: Yes, I was very nervous. I didn’t know anyone and I heard a lot of things about Owasso, and mainly basketball helped me. That’s where I made friends and became myself

VYPE: Did you struggle after your mother passed away during the Covid pandemic?
CE: I did struggle a lot. I moved houses around three times when I got to Owasso, and I was in a really deep depression I didn’t tell anyone about.

VYPE: How did playing basketball with your Owasso teammates help you through that time?
CE: Playing basketball helped a lot because that’s all I had time for, I was around my team 24/7. We hung out 24/7, and they were all super nice to me

VYPE: Do you think you’ve made her proud?
CE: I think I definitely made my mom proud she was always my biggest supporter and came to all of my games

VYPE: What are your future plans?
CE: My future is still a little bit rockY. I do know I’m going to the Air Force soon, but I would love to continue playing sports. I plan to go to college when u get back from training.
