Hi, what are you looking for?

Bixby

9 Qs With Bixby’s Carson Copenhaver – Presented By Fieldhouse Gear

VYPE: What are your goals for this season?

Carson: I want for our team to be able to give ourselves a chance at winning state by making it to playoffs as a high seed and make a deep run into the state tournament.

VYPE: What has soccer taught you that you use in your daily life?

Carson: It has taught me how to deal with the ups and down of life and how to persevere through them.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?

Carson: I think my favorite teacher would have to be my mom. She has been a teacher at Union and Bixby her whole life and has taught me so much academically and in life.

VYPE: Who inspires you and why?

Carson: I know it’s basic to say, but my parents inspire me every single day. They have been teaching me throughout my life how to deal with it and everything it will throw at me by being amazing role models and the best people in my life.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

Carson: The teammate who has left the biggest impact on me is Connor Nolan, last year’s All-State selection from Bixby. He’s one of the best leaders I have ever been fortunate enough to play with, he knows when to be serious with you and tell you to get it together, and he knows when to be your friend and help you along the way. I find myself thinking of him now during this season trying to follow what he would do as captain of this team.

VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?

Carson: Most definitely the built-in and long-lasting friendships that being on a team puts on you. My closest friends to this day have been playing soccer with me for eight years and remain my closest friends because we experience everything together and it brings us closer.

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?

Carson: I think I would go down to Florida to the beach or maybe a resort somewhere like Mexico or the Bahamas or something like that where I could spend a ton of close time with my family and close friends. It would just be such a fun experience to be able to do something like that.

VYPE: Why are you passionate about soccer?

Carson: I think it’s because of how competitive I am. I feel I owe it to myself and parents to try every moment I’m playing soccer because of the time and money sacrifice they have put into it. I’ve also just loved playing soccer from a really young age and have carried that love for years and will continue to be passionate about it when playing at Rogers State next year.

VYPE: Here is your chance to say hello, goodbye or thank you to anyone you wish.

Carson: I just want to say thank you to everyone that has been involved in my life that has bettered me athletically, mentally, and in life. Most importantly, my parents, coaches, and teammates for pushing me every training session and every game to get better and be a better version of myself.
