Bixby Football Preview: Offense – Presented by Fieldhouse Gear

Head Coach – Loren Montgomery

2021: 13-0

The Spartans have been on an amazing run as a football program the past few years. Since 2014 they have won seven state championships. They also hold the record for the most consecutive wins without a loss in Oklahoma high school football with 49 wins. And as they enter this season, they will add to that win total. But they will have a tougher time as they move up from Class 6A-II into Class 6A-I. This move will bring a batch of new opponents and the Spartans will have to work hard to continue the tradition that they have set. Connor Kirby (6-2, 190, Sr.) will be at quarterback this season, taking over for Christian Burke who graduated. Last year, in the time he was on the field, Kirby threw for 167 yards, rushed for 770 yards, and had nineteen rushing touchdowns. Senior quarterback Austin Havens (Sr.), who transferred in from Owasso in the offseason, will look to also have an impact on the Spartan’s season. Playing at wide receiver, Cale Fugate (5-11, 185, Sr.) had 202 receiving yards last season and three touchdowns, but he is expected to play a much bigger role this season. Taking care of things upfront will be offensive linemen Brody Duffel (Jr.) and Dez Traylor (Sr.). Jakeb Snyder (5-10, 175, Sr.) is looking to play a bigger role this season and make more plays. Last year, he had 624 yards receiving, nineteen yards on the ground, and eight total touchdowns. Luke Hasz (6-4, 225, Sr.) will be back at tight end after having 436 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He has put in the work in the off-season and is ready to have a big season for the Spartans. Running back Jett Turner (5-10, 160, Jr.) is a transfer from Jenks and is ready to be a key player for the Spartans this season.
