Sand Springs’ Alyssa Chase – “Talk of the Tailgate” presented by Taco Bueno

In her second year of varsity cheerleading at Charles Page High School, Alyssa Chase is excited for the rest of the football season and being on the sidelines for all of the games.

The sophomore said she has already made some great memories with her teammates.

“What I love most about my teammates is how encouraging and helpful we are towards each other. I feel like I can go to anyone of them for anything,” Alyssa said. “My all-time favorite moment during a game up to now is experiencing my first highway 97 rivalry win against Sapulpa at our home stadium. The crowd at this game is unlike any other throughout the season and they make it memorable and so much fun.”

Alyssa has been on the sideline through middle school and grade school. But there is something special about Friday nights under the lights.

“What makes Friday night lights so special is the crowd always cheering on the boys and cheerleaders,” Alyssa said. “What I will miss most about Friday night lights are stunting and the feeling after a great win.”

Alyssa said being a student-athlete at Charles Page High School is the only place for her thanks to the staff and school administrators.

“Charles Page has an amazing staff. The teachers always make me feel safe at school,” said Alyssa.

Her plans for the future include more bus rides. “After I graduate, I want to renovate a bus and travel the world while working on my crochet business,” said Alyssa.
