Sand Springs’ Braysen Zickefoose – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Eric Davidson State Farm

As the 2024 golf season begins to come to a close, golfers like Braysen Zickefoose continue to work on their game in hopes of finding the sweet spot during the state tournament. For Braysen, being around his teammates every day is what he enjoys the most.

“What I like most about being a student-athlete is being at practice with my teammates every day,” Braysen said.

The junior has played golf for two seasons and his best tournament round came when he shot an 82 at Rock Creek Golf Course. But like every golfer, Braysen has areas of his game he is working to improve.

“This season I have worked to improve my full swing,” Braysen said.

Knowing how tough the competition is Braysen said, “The team is good this year,” and he expects the Sandites to keep improving. He also mentioned his favorite tournament if the year, claiming the Sapulpa tournament was his favorite tournament this season.

Once he becomes a graduate in 2025, Braysen said he would like to continue his education in college. For now, he is happy playing golf with his friends at his favorite course, The Canyons at Blackjack Ridge in his hometown.
