Skylar Turnage
Charles Page Cheer
Sand Springs sophomore Skylar Turnage is a member of the varsity cheer team and tagged
as an Underclassman to Watch!
Turnage grew up like most of her peers, playing multiple sports before landing on cheer
and making it her sport of choice.
“I’ve always wanted to cheer but I did play softball ball for eight years then decided I
wanted to cheer. It’s always been fun for me to be a student-athlete for the Sandites
because your always welcome and have amazing coaches,” said Turnage.
Being around her teammates is something Turnage said makes all the hard work worth it.
“Always being able to be with my friends and making memories is what I love the most. You
should watch Aubree Tolbert, Sarah Turner, Camrie Cayman, and Mikenna Stephens. They
are doing great,” said Turnage. “I love how everyone is so loving and everyone is always
supportive about everything.”
As a student, Turnage said her favorite subject is chemistry and her favorite teacher is Mrs.
Painter. Plans for college are underway as Turnage prepares for the football season and
competition season this fall.
“I haven’t really figured what I want to study for college because all of my dream job are all
in different courses,” said Turnage.
