In his first season with the varsity swim team, Israel Jimenez is looking forward to competing at state.
“I swim the 50 free, 100 free, I swim the second leg in the 200 free relay and swim the third leg in the 400 free relay. I will swim the 200 free relay at state this year,” said Jimenez. “The team is locked in.”
Jimenez is a two-sport athlete at Owasso and said he loves being around his teammates and representing the Owasso Rams.
“What I like most about being a student-athlete at Owasso HS is being able to do two sports that I’ve done since I was a kid which is soccer and swimming,” said Jimenez. “What I like most about my teammates is that they support one another, and they always stay hard.”
This season in the pool, Jimenez said his favorite moment came on the road in regionals.
“My favorite memory so far this season was beating my 50 freestyle time at Jenks at regionals,” said Jimenez.
When he’s not in the pool or on the pitch you can usually find Jimenez playing guitar, player video games, and sleeping. After he graduates from high school, Jimenez said he would like to become an lawyer and play major league soccer.
In school, Jimenez said his favorite subject is ELA and his favorite teacher is Ms. Shearer.
