9 Qs With Catoosa’s Brogan O’Neal – Presented By Excel Therapy

VYPE: Which professional athlete do you look up to?
Brogan: Baker Mayfield because he may not be the biggest, fastest, or strongest but he has the most heart and dedication for what he wants and he will go get it.

VYPE: Why are you passionate about your sport?
Brogan: I was born into a very athletic family and sports has always been in my life since the day I was born, Sports is just one of those things I can’t see my life without, and the life lessons it teaches you.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you?
Brogan: Corey Chilcoat because he shows how to be a great leader and always does it with a good attitude and a smile on his face. He’s the hardest worker in every place he works out in and never takes failure as an option.

VYPE: What is your favorite part about representing your high school as an athlete?
Brogan: Wearing that jersey that has Catoosa Indians on it and putting in the hard work that can make my team the best that it can be at any age from freshman to senior.

VYPE: What has been your favorite memory of playing?
Brogan: Throwing my first high school touchdown against Verdigris this year and making it to the state finals in wrestling by coming back after being down by seven points in the semifinals.

VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?
Brogan: You have the opportunity to lead that team to success and to be the best to your ability together as one.

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?
Brogan: Hard work, mental and physical toughness, dedication, and how to overcome adversity.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade?
Brogan: Malik Walker from eighth grade and because no matter what day or what time it was he was always positive with tough love and pushed you to be the best of your ability.

Brogan: I want to thank my whole family for supporting me in every way possible. James O’Neal, Katy O’Neal, Kahli O’Neal, Karen O’Neal, Paul O’Neal, Mike Jarrett, Steve Jarrett, Eva Jarrett, John Edwards, Cathy Edwards, and many more. Also, I want to thank my coaches for pushing me to be my best and to be the best young man that I can be and mostly always believing in me. Coach Hood, Sal, Walker, Frazier, Clevenger, Eremita, Dearmomd, Ussrey, Ellis, Shepard. All these people have been there and supported me.
