Catoosa Basketball: Zoe Brown Looks Forward to Her Senior Season – Presented by Owasso Drug

Zoe Brown is an outstanding multi-sport athlete at Catoosa High School, playing volleyball and basketball. While she loves to play her sports, Brown says that it takes a lot in order to be her best. But she says that it helps to have the support of those around her as well.

“It has taken a lot of confidence and encouragement for me to be successful in my sports,” Zoe said. “I have some of my great role models in my life. My parents, Kimberly jones, Christopher jones, and Fred brown are always there and they give great advice. I would love to be able to give the same advice to someone one day. My basketball coach Amanda Henderson is also one of my role models because she is one of the strongest people i know and probably the most patient person I know and I look up to her for that.”

Brown, who is a senior, enjoys representing her school wherever she goes, both on and off the court.

“When I put on the jersey, I know that I am representing my school and community,” she said. “It means so much to me because there is no better feeling than talking to someone you might see out and about and ask you how your game was last night or how you are doing so far in the season or having someone tell you how good you did.”

Zoe says that enjoys playing alongside her teammates and that they each bring something to the team. They also work together to help each other get better.

“I enjoy working in practice against Lexi Buckmaster and Tinsley Mitchell,” she said. “I have fun going against them and I feel like they push me to do better because of their skill level. I think the most underrated player on our team is Cameryn Barclay. Because of her height, she helps our defense tremendously and even though it is her first year playing. Her presence on our team is a big one.”

Though there is a lot of work to become a solid athlete, Zoe enjoys it and says that is how she keeps herself focused.

“My motivation would be my desire to reach or achieve a goal,” she said. “I love working hard for something and then having that feeling when you accomplish that goal.”
